Alternate versions:
- The "Demented Stereo" version has the sirens panning from left to right across the stereo image, whereas the standard stereo mix has them centered. This remix also has increased bass and a brief spoken outro with mild drug humor. It was first aired on KMET in 1973. The initial release of this remix on Dr. Demento's Delights also had the drug humor, but this was faded early when the mix was used again on a reissue 45 on Eric (although the first bit of the outro is faintly heard).
interesting facts (click to see playlist of show on which fact was mentioned, if applicable):
- The Warner Brothers 45s have a backwards version of the same song as the B-side.
- The original 1966 45 and LP use the spelling and punctuation shown first above, but reissue 45s have dropped the final "a", and other reissues have sometimes done likewise or dropped the comma.
Chart information:
- #3 1966 (single)
- #87 1973 (single)
- #198 1975 (as part of album Dr. Demento's Delights)
