Alternate versions:
- The story was originally released in two parts on opposite sides of one record. Dr. Demento generally plays both parts segued together, with the closing music from Part I removed to make it sound like one continuous piece. This is listed as simply "Christmas Dragnet" in the playlists. If he plays the parts separately, they will be listed separately, or if he plays them back to back without removing the closing of Part I, they will be listed as one entry with (Parts I & II).
interesting facts (click to see playlist of show on which fact was mentioned, if applicable):
- This is a spoof of the "Dragnet" radio/TV series, and a follow-up to Stan's #1 hit from earlier in the year, "St. George And The Dragonet".
- When Capitol re-released the record in 1954, they decided to retitle it from "Christmas Dragnet" to "Yulenet". It is not known whether this decision was based on any legal issues with using the name "Dragnet" or not.
- Stan Freberg plays the character of Joe Wednesday, which is a take-off on the name of Jack Webb's Joe Friday character from "Dragnet". The Frank Jones character's name is a take-off on Frank Smith, who was Joe Friday's partner for most of the original "Dragnet" series.
