This is Silverstein's first album. It's billed as "Shel Silverstein and the Red Onion Jazz Band"
Pretty much a straight-up barrelhouse music style of jazz. Most of the tunes are covers, but two of the songs,
"Broken Down Mama", and "Pass Me By Like You Never Knowed Me", were written by Silverstein.

Shel co-produced this album, where artists Tom Paxton, Peter Yarrow,
John Hartford, Emmylou Harris, Oscar Brand, Josh White Jr., and others
reunited to pay tribute to Bob Gibson by singing on "I Hear America
Singing". Bob was terminally ill, and this CD was his farewell.
He passed away on September 27, 1996.
